The traditional Gordy Butler Christmas Tournament returns after a several year absence!

Capitals

Livonia Capitals - A Bracket Champions

Rangers

Livonia Rangers - B Bracket Champions

December 27th - 29th:

The Gordy Butler Memorial tournament returned to Eddie Edgar this holiday season.  This year showcased four LHA teams broken into two brackets including three from the 8U (Mites) division - the Capitals, Rangers and Whalers.  The 10U Livonia Knights Girls with some help from the Girls IP Jets team comprised the last team.  There was stiff competition from all teams over the several day event but in the end the Capitals won the A bracket posting an impressive 5 - 0 record on their way to the championship trophy.  Backstopped by tourney MVP Jacob Warner the Capitals were able to defeat the Rangers 5 - 1 in the championship game.  In the B bracket the Rangers were able to overcome a round robin loss to the Capitals to claim the championship trophy posting a tournament record of 4 - 1.  Led by championship game goalie and tourney MVP Harris Nagarah, the Rangers staved off a strong comeback effort from the Capitals capturing the title game 6 - 4.

All the participants enjoyed the competitive aspect throughout the tournament and the camaraderie created amongst all the participants will last a lifetime.

The LHA would like to send a special thank you to Little Bill's Trophies for donating the first and second place trophies to honor the memory of Gordy Butler.
