LHA Seeking IP Coaches

The interest in the Livonia Hockey Association Initiation Program (IP) has been great this year.  So great, that the LHA board of directors recently decided to run the IP program completely "in house" this season.  Our IP families will be fortunate enough to not have to travel to other area associations to play games.  The association is looking at 5 or more teams at the IP level, with the potential for two all girl teams thanks to the growth of LHA girls hockey program.  Recruitment flyers to Livonia Schools are scheduled to go out this coming week, which could mean even more teams.  With the potential for the large number of teams, the Association is looking for volunteer coaches for this young age level.  While most skaters are 6 years or younger there are older players who are just stepping on to the ice for the first time.  Anyone interested in being an IP coach this season should contact Chris O’Donnell at codonnell@livoniahockey.org.  Or talk to him at one of the upcoming IP skate sessions on Sunday 9/18 at 3:30pm or Wednesday 9/21 at 5:30pm.
